Rick and Louann Faist have been producing Thumb Fun Kalimbas since 1994.We begin by planting the gourd seeds in the spring here on our land in Southern Oregon.
The summers here are long and hot so the gourds can mature by October. Each gourd is then overwintered out of doors until cured enough for use.
Each Kalimba is hand crafted for a quality finished instrument. We find that people of all ages love these instruments because they are easy and fun to play. We like to take them hiking, jam with friends, or sit quietly and let the tones relax us after a busy day.
